4 nice apples (Ginger Gold or Granny Smith are good)
2 TB sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp butter or margarine
Core apples, leave skins on. Mix together sugar, cinnamon and salt. Spray large skillet with cooking spray, heat for a minute over medium high heat. Add butter, then add apple slices. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until apples are soft but still firm in the center (you don’t want mushy apples). Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and cook for another couple minutes, stirring frequently, until the sugar begins to caramelize and stick to the apples.
